f Dream a dream... - Art Eye Candy

Dream a dream...

Decide what you want ...
 believe you can have it,
believe you deserve it,
believe it's possible for you.

from The Secret.

I think it takes a real 'shift' in your mind to really believe,
To REALLY believe it that is.

But that's what I'm trying to do for myself.

If you have been reading the blog for a while now, you know that my health hasn't been so good this last year, and it's very easy to slip into a downwards spiral.  You can feel it creeping up on you sometimes and it takes a real effort to shrug it off.
I'm doing my best to shrug it off and I'm taking this opportunity through my recovery time from work to help heal myself, and at the same time follow my dream through my art work.

it feels good to create,
even when it is something simple like Christmas Cookies,
it's all creative right?

This is what I created today...

I painted a little piece of mount board with acrylics.

Added some fancy paper tape (Tim Holtz)

Then I stamped the background with acrylic paint (wash the stamp quickly)

After that, I made a little body for my girl.
(the face from yesterday, remember?)

And to finish off,
I put it all together, collaged and painted her hair, and added a few words of Art Eye Candy wisdom.

All finished and quite lovely I think.
(thought it was about time I did a brown skinned girl too)

think I'm going to get the journal out now for some doodle action... and dream.

I'm holding on,
Are you?

You bet baking cookies is creative! AND rewarding!!!! I love this piece. I like the way you used the gold ink, I have some and never use it, but that just kicked the whole thing up a level. And, of course, I will follow you!
