Good things come in small packages...

Good Morning :)

How is everyone today?  The weather seems to have taken a little turn for the worse, grey clouds are covering the sky.  Let's hope that the last few days of sunshine are not the only 'summer' we are getting this year.

I've been looking back through my posts lately, it's a really interesting thing to do, especially if you make art.  I can see how much my work has developed since I 'restarted' on my creative journey.  I think that I've found my style of working and I'm really happy with the results.  It's a good feeling because all that self doubt that I started with, is sneaking somewhere in the background, hopefully for good this time.  It's great to be able to start a piece of art knowing that it will almost certainly turn out OK.  I'm not asking people for their thoughts anymore either, I'm relying on my own feelings - this has got to be the MOST 'freeing' thing that I've done recently.  Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the compliments, but what I mean is that I'm not trying to please people.  I'm being AUTHENTIC to me and (in the words of Nina Simone) I'm feeling good.

Yesterday I hunted through my supplies and found a load of small box canvases, so I've started working on them and I'm going to keep going until I've used them all up.  They are only 8cm by 10cm, really cute.

These are the two that I've done so far. (more today)

This is for a friend of mine.  The FADA stands for Fabulous and Damned Attractive :)

Close up cutie.

The next one is called Cherish.  I'm going to make another two to go with her.  I think this is my favorite so far.

This is her before I worked on top with my crayons.  You can see the silk papers for the hair, and transfer (rub-ons) butterfly wings.  She has a top layer of the white tissue paper to soften it all.

Look how small they are, they are the same size as ATC's.

So it's back to the creating for me, oh I almost forgot...

It's a day late for my friends in the USA but...

Happy 4th of July.
